Hans Otte, one of wakeboarding's greatest, passed away

Wakeboarding, especially cable wakeboarding would not be where it is today without Hans Otte. With great efforts he worked and fought for better conditions for wakeboarders.
In the mid 90s he helped to found the wakeboard department of the German Waterski Federation to have professionally organized and sanctioned events for wakeboarding. Back when all the waterskiers were completely ignoring wakeboarding he believed in the potential of our sport to grow and helped to make it as big as it is today.
His heart was the one of a wakeboarder, this is why he became a supporter of the World Wakeboard Association (WWA) even though he had his background in the International Waterski Federation (IWSF, now named International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation IWWF). He wanted to bring those two organizations together to form bigger and better events. Never was he fighting for a federation, always for the best of wakeboarding. His motivation was as selfless as it was endless.
Sesitec is thankful for everything he did in and for wakeboarding, he is probably a big reason why we could build as many great projects as we did. With admiring thoughts of him Christian von Lerchenfeld says: "Every time we talked about wakeboarding, about how to grow the sport, you could see his eyes shine and glow. Yes, you could tell from his eyes how devoted he was to make wakeboarding better and how fighting for this made him happy."

We hope that those who got to meet him will carry memories of him in their hearts and that all wakeboarders will be forever thankful for what he did for our beloved hobby.
Dear Hans, thank you so much. May you rest in peace.
